PERFORMANCE

Developing the body from scratch enabled our engineers to realize an outstanding crashworthy structure which high-tensile steel and tailored blanks are used extensively to ensure lightness and strength.

In the cabin, passengers are further shielded from impact forces by a collapsible steering column, leg-injury-mitigating brake and clutch pedals, front seatbelts pretensioners and force limiters, energy-absorbing trim and dual front airbags.

In tests conducted by Suzuki, the new Swift gave driver and front-passenger protection corresponding to a four-star Euro NCAP rating.

The Swift's chosen powertrain is the proven and feisty 1.5 litre VVT engine tuned for performance at low and mid-range speeds – crucial in stop-start urban driving situations and on winding roads.

Innovative technologies include variable valve timing (VVT) – for maximizing torque and power throughout the rev range, and an innovative plastic intake manifold to cool the intake air to achieve more power.

Choose the type of drive you want - the mean machine 5-speed manual or the convenient 4-speed automatic transmission that zips around the urban roads with ease and comfort.
